Investing in What Matters Most
Matthew 6:19-21 reminds us to store up treasures in heaven rather than placing our focus on earthly possessions that are temporary. True stewardship is about more than what we give; it reflects where our hearts are and what we value most. When we faithfully give of our time, talents, and resources to the Lord, we demonstrate that our trust is in Him and that our greatest treasure is found in His Kingdom. May our giving reflect hearts devoted to God, recognizing that what we invest in His work has eternal significance.

Pastor Appreciation Day is October 11
October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and HBC will celebrate Pastor Appreciation Day on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Pastor Appreciation Month creates a simple opportunity for the congregation to say, “We see what you do, and we’re grateful for you.”

We invite our church members/congregation to write a personal note to our Pastor about what he has meant to you and your family. We are asking families and the ministry team leaders to provide a special thank you message or record a short video to express our sincere appreciation for our Pastor’s service. We also encourage the kids to create cards or artwork to give to the Pastor. You can also prepare a special note for the other ministry leaders at HBC.

You can be specific and share a story or a special time that made a difference in your life. Mention a sermon that helped during a difficult season. Thank them for a conversation, prayer, decision, or moment of leadership that made a difference. Specific encouragement reminds pastors that their work is making an impact.

Please come prepared next Sunday, October 11th, with your creative thank-you, and we can deliver it to the Pastor the following Sunday. Thank you in advance for your support. — Stewardship Team

Leadership Meeting on Saturday, October 10
The next Leadership Meeting will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 10:00 a.m. Please make plans to attend as we come together to discuss upcoming church matters and continue moving forward in ministry.

YAM Anchor Lounge – Friday, October 16
The Young Adult Ministry invites you to our next Anchor Lounge for adults ages 18–35 on Friday, October 16, from 7:00–9:00 p.m. in Putnam Hall. Come enjoy an evening filled with delicious food, engaging discussions, fun games, and uplifting worship.

It’s the perfect night to connect, recharge, and grow together in faith and community. Bring a friend and come ready to laugh, worship, and be inspired. You are not going to want to miss this one.

Family and Friends Day: Save the Date
Family and Friends Day will take place on Sunday, November 15!

Planning meetings will be held every Sunday immediately following the worship service.
